I have been saying this to my friends and family since early 2019. Some have heeded my warning and deleted the app. Some have not. One thing is for certain. The dopamine addiction of Tik Tok is much like the opiod addiction of heroin. It takes a few injections to normalize and then it takes control. Once in control, it becomes a necessary, growing habit that staves off any withdrawal symptoms that follow. Breaking the cycle by saying “no more” to the app is no longer an option. If you think that I’m overstating the power of this weapon, delete the app right now. If you even hesitate, or have a feeling of anxiety over removing Tik Tok from your daily life, you are hooked. The rabbit hole of addiction is eternal.
It began with gateway social marijuana media like GeoCities, Classmates, SixDegrees, Friendster and MySpace. Followed by the crack epidemic of Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and the like. Those platforms pale in comparison to the damage that is being done by Tik Tok. Over one billion daily active users of the platform are being manipulated by dopamine levels that are unsustainable and extremely unhealthy to productive human life.
“Fentanyl is a carpet bomb. Tik Tok is a smart bomb aimed at every human being.”
It gets worse. Tik Tok is owned by ByteDance Limited. ByteDance Limited is controlled by the Peoples Republic of China. The PRC is pushing this Tik Tok dopamine-heroin upon the entire planet. Fentanyl is a carpet bomb. Tik Tok is a smart bomb aimed at every human being. Both platforms are commonly used to treat people with severe or chronic pain and boredom. The effects are numerous and include:
extreme happiness
drowsiness
nausea
euphoria
confusion
sedation
problems breathing
unconsciousness (Yes, people do fall asleep using Tik Tok)
As with most diseases of neurochemistry, denial is a common disorder found in most users. Avoiding anxiety by ignoring the reality of a situation is a widely deployed defense mechanism. Defense mechanisms are strategies that help a person cope with undesirable feelings. Users may shun reality or deny the consequences of reality through denial. Denial often causes users to delay needed changes to ones life or to feel the need to not change at all.
This post has become longer than I intended. I could go on and on about this topic. I won’t. Instead, I will offer these videos that contain information on the subject below. Thank you for reading.
